About FranchiseVitals

FranchiseVitals shows real franchise investment costs and unit-growth trends, sourced directly from each franchise's own filed Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) -- not self-reported marketing figures.

Where the numbers come from

Every figure on this site is sourced from a franchise's actual FDD, filed with the California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation (DFPI), a real public record. Item 7 of an FDD gives the estimated initial investment; Item 20 gives real, legally-required year-over-year unit count data (openings, closings, transfers). Franchisors selling nationally virtually always register in California, so this data is largely national in scope, not California-only -- and the unit counts reported are typically system-wide, not state-specific.

This is currently a small, hand-verified pilot -- each entry is checked against its real source filing before publishing, rather than run through a fully automated pipeline.

What this site doesn't do

This isn't investment advice, and it isn't a lead-generation service selling your information to franchisors. Always verify current figures against the franchisor's most recent FDD and consult a real attorney or accountant before making any investment decision.
