FranchiseVitals
What a franchise actually costs, and whether it's really growing -- pulled from the disclosure document itself, not a sales pitch.
Before anyone can sell you a franchise, they have to file a document laying out exactly what it costs and how the brand is actually doing. Almost nobody reads it, and almost no franchise site bothers pulling from it either -- they'd rather show you a "starting at" number and a form to fill out.
Here's the part that matters most and gets skipped everywhere else: whether the brand is opening more locations or losing them. That's not a secret -- franchisors have to report it every year -- it's just buried in a document nobody hands you until you're already deep in the sales process. We pull it out and put it on the page.

Starting small on purpose -- each one below is checked by hand against its actual filing before it goes up. More are added as they're verified.

Real brands queued for the same hand-verification pass -- we won't publish a number until we've pulled it from the actual FDD, so these are names only for now, not pages yet. Some may turn out to have no current registration on file and get skipped; that's a real, occasional outcome of checking, not a bug.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from other franchise directories?
Most show you a "starting at" figure and hand you off to a lead form. Every number here comes from the franchise's own FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document), the document it's legally required to file before selling you anything. That includes something almost nobody else shows: whether the brand is actually opening more locations or quietly closing them.
Where does the data come from?
The California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation (DFPI), which keeps every franchisor's filed disclosure documents on public record. Brands selling nationally almost always register there too, since it's the biggest single-state franchise market -- so what you're seeing is usually national, not just California numbers.
Is this investment advice?
No. Think of it as a starting point for better questions, not a final answer. Always pull the franchisor's current FDD yourself and talk to an attorney or accountant before signing anything.
